Mr. Çolakoğlu was born in 1957 in Ankara. He graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU), Mechanical Engineering Department and completed his master degree in Hacettepe University Department of Wood Products Industrial Engineering. He was awarded with a doctorate degree from Gazi University Faculty of Technical Education. He became an associate professor in 2011.
He served as the Vice President of KOSGEB (Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development and Support Administration). Later, he worked in TTGV (Technology Development Foundation of Turkey), Erciyes Technopark and lectured in Kastamonu University and METU. Since 2013 he is in the Ministry of National Education (MONE), first as an advisor to the Minister and currently the Deputy Undersecretary.
