Frank Hennessey has been the Head of Business Studies at St. Mary’s University College in UK since 1980. St. Mary’s University College is a College of Queen’s University Belfast, which in 2009 was recognised as the U.K. Entrepreneurial University of the Year. The College focuses also on training and continuing professional development for teachers. Mr. Hennessey’s duties include the co-ordination of the “entrepreneurial learning” provision across the University College. The University College has been cited by the European Commission as an exemplar of good practice for its work in the promotion of Entrepreneurship Education within initial teacher education. In August 2011 he was nominated by the UK government as its representative on the Thematic Working Group, (TWG), for Entrepreneurship Education.

In 2013. he worked as a consultant with the South Eastern European Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning, SEECEL, and the European Training Foundation, ETF, on reviewing progress on Entrepreneurship Education as part of the SBA assessment process. More recently he has been working with the Austrian Federal Economic Chambers, (WKO), and JA-YE, on a joint project developing a qualification to consolidate and accredit student learning experiences within the mini company programmes.
