Andrey NOVAKOV Bulgaria

Andrey Novakov is the youngest Member of the European Parliament (28) who joined the institution in November 2014. 

Andrey’s key activities relate to regional policy and EU investments in infrastructure, SMEs, entrepreneurship, research and innovation. He was also involved in the negotiations on the 2016 and 2017 EU budgets. For the last 2 years, he authored and shadowed a line-up of key reports, resolutions and opinions on Erasmus+, Youth Guarantee, Youth Employment Initiative, SMEs, Horizon 2020, simplification of EU funding, the European Fund for Strategic Investments and the future of EU’s cohesion policy. 

As of today, he is a Vice-Coordinator in the Committee on Regional Development and a Member of the Governing Board of Knowledge 4 Innovation. In 2016, he was awarded the Forbes’ 30 under 30 prize.
