Francisco Alvarez Molina INTERREG Boost IEER programme expert Valencia Region

PhD in electronics applied to finance (Paris Sorbonne University) Francisco Álvarez has an MBA from the INSEAD (Fontainebleau) and has been certified by the Securities Investment Institute of London. With huge experience within the Stock Exchanges environment and the financial sector services, he spent 24 years working for the Paris Bourse. Between 1992 and 1995 as vice president, he was responsible for the international relationships of the Paris Bourse. In 1995 he accepted to join the Valencia Stock Exchange as CEO.  In addition, he was nominated in 1997 president of the Fundación de Estudios Bursatiles y Financieros and in 1998 President of the European Association of Regional Financial Centres. In 2000 he was designated as “the economic man of the year” by the monthly economical newspaper “Economia3”. He jointed Banco Inversión in December 2000, as Deputy Manager, to develop the new strategy of the bank in Spain after the acquisition by the Hypovereinsbank group. In 2003 he created ETICA Soluciones Financieras, an independent company offering financial services to entrepreneurs and to individual investors using ethical principles. He’s also member of the advisory board of the CIFA (Convention of the Independent Financial Advisers), which, in turn, is a member of the socio-economical team of the United Nations.
He has received several awards “Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérit Civil” by the French government. In 2005 from the Business School ESIC for his professional background; in 2012 from the association of the foreign journalists in Spain gave him the economical distinction for disseminating the financial and economical culture within the scope of the economic model known as “Modelo Económico del Bien Común”.

Francisco Álvarez published, in Spanish, some books like “Please don’t tell my mother that I’m working for the Stock Exchange” “Bye bye peseta…” “The Stock Exchange in your pocket”. For twelve years, he was the head of a weekly radio broadcasting program called “La Bolsa y la vida”, having more than one million followers and broadcasted by the public RNE. He participates on regular basis in several TV programs and publishes articles in different economic newspapers.
